Ronnie Simmons is a Los Angeles based, Australian rock guitarist and songwriter from the Sydney suburb of Newtown. Beginning in the pubs and clubs of Sydney at the age of 15, Ronnie has since played guitar for rock legends such as Rose Tattoo, Richie Ramone and The Screaming Jets. He has toured the world performing in legendary venues such as Madison Square Garden and supported acts such as Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith and Van Halen.
Ronnie's first band The Skanks, who would go on to become L.U.S.T. (featuring Sydney artist Sindy Sinn). L.U.S.T. recorded their debut album First Tattoo, mixed by Grammy winner Ulrich Wild (White Zombie, Pantera, Buckcherry) and toured Australia with Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, The Screaming Jets and The Party Boys feat. Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), John Swan (Swanee), Kevin Borich (Kevin Borich Express), Harry Brus (Renee Geyer), Izzy Osmanovic (Judge Mercy, Screaming Jets) and Mick O'Shea (Judge Mercy, Rose Tattoo, Dragon). L.U.S.T.'s 'See You In Hell' was used as the theme song for MTV Australia's Headbanger's Ball.
In 2012 Ronnie played guitar with German band Autobahn Outlaw, (which featured V8 Wankers singer Lutz Vegas and Rose Tattoo bass player Steve King) and released the album RU12, and Australian band The Art, supporting Aerosmith, Van Halen, Richie Ramone, Faster Pussycat, Buckcherry, Twisted Sister and more.
In 2013 Ronnie was personally invited to play guitar in Australia with Rose Tattoo by Angry Anderson and fill the shoes of the late, great Mick Cocks. A mentor and hero of Ronnie's. Ronnie also played guitar with Paul Woseen (The Screaming Jets).
In 2014 Ronnie relocated to Los Angeles where he was invited to play with Motochrist by Danny Nordahl (Faster Pussycat, NY Loose, The Throbs), and The Chelsea Smiles by Todd Youth (Ace Frehley, Danzig, Motorhead, DGeneration, Glen Campbell) & Sky Vaughan Jayne (Bullets and Octane), Future Villains and more. Ronnie was then hired to play guitar for The Raskins supporting Motley Crue's Final US tour feat. Alice Cooper, where he played sold out arenas and stadiums around the USA including Madison Square Garden. On the Motley Crue/Alice Cooper tour Ronnie was invited by Alice Cooper & Hollywood Vampires guitarist Tommy Henriksen to play with his solo band and featured in videos 'Teenage Kicks Pt 2' and 'We Let It Rock' alongside Johnny Martin (Chelsea Smiles, L.A. Guns), which Nikki Sixx shared on Twitter saying "This will knock your dick in the dirt".
In 2015 Ronnie was invited by Motochrist to play guitar, cowrite and associate produce the album 'Chrome' with Gilby Clarke (Guns 'N Roses) and then toured the USA and Canada with Future Villains supporting Steel Panthers 'All You Can Eat Tour'.
In 2016 Ronnie was invited to play guitar with another of his heroes, Richie Ramone of The Ramones. Ronnie appeared in the music video for 'I Fix This' and played with Richie for 2 years, including 2 World Tours playing: Australia, New Zealand, Japan, USA, UK, Ireland, Europe, Scandinavia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.
In 2017 Ronnie was invited by Paul Woseen and Dave Gleeson to play with The Screaming Jets in Australia, and also recorded on their album 'Gotcha Covered' which went to #1 on the Australian iTunes rock charts.
In late 2017 Ronnie and singer Foxie Kelly formed hard rock band The Hots, who he currently plays with and manages today. In 2018 The Hots were invited by legendary Australian rock producer Mark Opitz (AC/DC, INXS, The Angels, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo, Divinyls, Hoodoo Gurus and more) to record their debut EP. The EP (featuring Mick O'Shea on drums and Blake Cateris on bass) was released at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood in November of 2018. The debut single 'Before You' was premiered on US radio by the legendary Mayor of the Sunset Strip Rodney Bingenheimer and since then has been added to rotation on over 90 radio stations across the USA & Canada, charting 3 times at #1.
